Lexi + Jayden

I was initially reached out to by Lexi’s friend, Deena! She messaged me on Instagram in December of 2021 letting me know that her friend was getting married on September 24th, 2022 and asked if I had the date open. Thankfully I did so I asked for Lexi’s email to reach out to her BUT she had already sent me an email! She told me all about her and Jayden’s love story and I immediately knew I wanted to capture their day. Soon after Lexi inquired they booked and I started counting down the days until their wedding. We did their engagement session in April in one of my favorite locations in Springfield, IL. These two were SO much fun and I loved getting to meet them, know them and capture their love. It made me even more excited for their day!

Lexi and Jayden’s love story goes way back and starts with Lexi being best friends with Jayden’s sister growing up. She spent a lot of time at their house with his family. Lexi says that as much as she hates to admit it, it was not love at first sight with Jayden. They had a love-hate sibling-like relationship to start out. They didn’t talk much in high school and were both in relationships so they didn’t really hang out around each other. Once Jayden was in his first year of college and Lexi was in her senior year of high school they both got out of those relationships and started staying up late talking on the phone and helping each other cope and deal with the heartache they were feeling. They said multiple times that neither of them wanted a relationship so they decided that if either one of them developed feelings they would just stop talking completely. Jayden went to college at Fontbonne University in St. Louis and before Lexi knew it he was coming home every weekend to see her. They didn’t want anyone to know they were seeing each other yet so they would meet at an old church behind his house and drive around for hours…Lexi says that it was not unusual for them to drive around for 8+ hours at night! One night his sister Chesney and Lexi stayed at a friend’s house and the next morning Jayden’s mom came and picked them up. While they were driving home his mom had made a comment about how she found a scarf in the back of Jayden’s mustang… Lexi sank down in the back seat, embarrassed, because she realized that’s where she had lost her scarf the weekend before. This is when they finally decided that they couldn’t deny their feelings for each other so Lexi told Jayden if his sister approved then they could move to the next step and make it official. Luckily, Chesney was so happy that Jayden had finally found a girlfriend that she actually liked being around! After only a month of talking, they made it official on September 25, 2016. Fast forward to April 14, 2021 and he asked her to marry him! Of course she said yes, she said it was the easiest yes of her life!

Okay! Now, to talk about their day! This was seriously the best day! Everything was so thought out and they chose the best vendors for their day. Even though it was pretty hot outside it was such a beautiful fall day and their colors were absolutely stunning. Lexi + Jayden got married at Venue 720 in Flora, IL. They started their day getting ready (apart of course) with their favorite people. Once the guys arrived at the venue Lexi + Jayden shared an intimate first touch and vow exchange. My eyes were definitely not dry. This was such a sweet part of the day + their vows were so genuine and heartfelt. After that we did some wedding party photos so we started with Lexi and the girls and then did Jayden and his guys. After that it was time for their ceremony! Everything was so beautiful and Lexi walked down the aisle to “I Guess I’m In Love” by Clinton Kane and it was such a beautiful moment seeing Jayden shed some tears seeing his bride walk down the aisle and while Lexi’s dad was not there physically you can tell his presence was felt and very much there. Watching these two tie the knot and say I do was so sweet and getting to capture it was an honor. Once the ceremony was over it was time to head to Charley Brown Park in Flora, IL for some photos of their whole crew and then them. These two had such a fun wedding party if you can’t tell from the photos! Then it was time for these two to soak up some time together and reflect on the fact that they had just gotten MARRIED! They were so sweet and so much fun to capture. It was so easy to capture the love they shared because it was just radiating off of them. After their photos were done we headed back to the venue to CELEBRATE! This crew knows how to party and have a good time, again, if you can’t tell from the photos! All in all this day was so much fun and the absolutely best day. Enjoy some of my favorites from their day!
