HOW WE MET

I met Anneliese + Henry in March when we did their consultation Zoom call, and I knew after our call that this was going to be a good one! They were both so sweet and you could tell how much they love each other. I instantly knew I wanted to capture their day.

HOW THEY MET

These two met at church on a worship team when they were in high school. They both decided to stay in Champaign/Urbana to go to school together at the U of I where she studies neuroscience and he studies aerospace engineering—How freaking cool! Henry proposed at a Christmas light festival in Monticello at Allerton Mansion. He proposed on a bench in a quiet area away from everyone else. Years ago, Henry asked Anneliese to be his girlfriend on a bench, so it was important to him to again have a space that they could go back to through the years. I love how intentional he was about how and where he proposed.

THE BIG DAY

I had been waiting for their day for what felt like forever! In one of the questionnaires I sent out to them prior to their wedding I asked what their dream wedding day would be and she said she wanted it to be a fairytale. Let me tell you; it was nothing short of a fairytale. Between the dreamy florals, serene ceremony location, beautiful colors they chose and Anneliese’s gorgeous intricate dress, their day was so perfect. We started their day at Anneliese’s aunt’s home where she and her girls got ready. Meanwhile, the boys were getting ready at the IHOTEL IN CHAMPAIGN, where their reception would later take place. They decided to get married at the most beautiful spot on the JAPAN HOUSE property in Champaign. They were surrounded by trees and beautiful landscaping. After a sweet, intimate ceremony we snuck away to get some portraits of the two of them. We ventured on the grounds near their ceremony and stopped at so many pretty spots along the way. The way these two melt into each other so organically made capturing their love so effortless. It was so fun getting to watch them soak in being husband and wife. We made sure to take a few photos on a bench nearby since that was a common theme in their relationship. They now have a bench they can visit where they sat after getting married. Once we were done with photos of the two of them we then headed to the iHotel to get the party started! They had such a fun celebration with speeches, cake cutting, and dances. Before saying our goodbyes we ended the night with such a fun glow stick send off! I had not done a glow stick send off before but I love how the colors surrounded them while their loved ones cheered and they shared a kiss. It was such a joy capturing such a sweet, intimate, and intentional day.

Enjoy some of my favorites from this fairytale day!
